Clinical Chemistry and Hematology
Clinical chemistry is a crucial component in the early detection, treatment and management of human diseases and health disorders. In our clinical chemistry, we analyze various markers in body fluids, most commonly in serum and plasma.
For the hematological analysis of peripheral blood, blood is collected at various time intervals from the saphenous vein (one sample per side) or the tail vein using a needle and appropriate restrainer for smaller blood volumes. The use of a consistent collection site and method, handling that minimizes stress and allows for the collection of a sufficient volume of blood. Appropriate anticoagulation allows for accurate hematologic analysis and interpretation.
